After graduating from university with a degree in Textiles, Caroline worked for North Yorkshire Police for 8 years before travelling to Thailand to teach English. On her return, using the tools she had to hand, she taught herself freehand machine embroidery, which she likens to drawing with a sewing machine. Inspired by animals, nature and her love of taking photographs. The environment is important to Caroline who uses many recycled fabrics in her work.

Caroline will be exhibiting at York Open Studios for the second time this year.
